Cambodia's First Woman Praises Nation's Inaugural Major Wedding Fair

Phnom Penh, September 20, 2024 The bustling capital of Cambodia is set to host its first major wedding exhibition, commencing today at The Premium Center Sen Sok. The inaugural event has garnered notable attention, particularly with the participation of Mrs. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, Cambodia's first woman, who delivered inspiring remarks at the opening ceremony.

In her address, Mrs. Pich Chanmony highlighted the significance of marriage as a treasured family commitment in the lives of individuals. She expressed her gratitude for the initiative to organize a platform that facilitates easy interaction between couples, their families, and the plethora of businesses devoted to wedding services. "This arrangement is essential for providing couples with the opportunity to explore options and finalize their preparations," she emphasized.

Reflecting on her own marriage to her husband Hun Manet in 2006, Mrs. Chanmony noted the evolution of wedding planning resources, pointing out that the luxury of choice available today was not as pronounced in the past. Her remarks echoed the spirit of change and modernity in Cambodian society.

Moreover, Mrs. Chanmony conveyed her enthusiasm for preserving and promoting Khmer cultural arts at the exhibition. "Our country is fortunate to inherit a rich traditional culture from our ancestors, which remains a source of pride for our people," she stated, underscoring the importance of cultural heritage in contemporary celebrations.

Duke Seng Nhok, Director General of The Premium Center Sen Sok, remarked on the fair's potential to consolidate various companies offering standardized and reputable wedding services. He stated, "This groundbreaking exhibition will serve as a comprehensive hub for showcasing products and services that cater to the needs of brides and grooms, ensuring a seamless wedding planning experience."

The exhibition will feature a diverse array of Cambodian wedding services, showcasing offerings such as event planning, catering, floral arrangement, traditional and contemporary music, jewelry, decor, and photography. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore many booths presented by various businesses, each displaying unique options to cater to different tastes and styles.

Open to the public from September 20 to 22, the wedding fair promises an engaging experience, including live performances by popular Cambodian artists such as Mr. Khemarak Sereymon, Mrs. Meas Soksophea, Mr. Duong Viraksith, Mr. Mam Pichrith, and Mr. Lim Tech Meng. Additionally, dedicated play areas for children will enhance the event experience for families.

As this landmark exhibition unfolds at The Premium Center Sen Sok, it symbolizes not only a remarkable milestone for wedding services in Cambodia but also a celebration of love and tradition intertwined with modernity.
