Angkor Enterprise Launches First Phase of Service Improvement

PHNOM PENH, September 13, 2024 — Angkor Enterprise has announced the first phase of its new service improvements, aimed at simplifying the process of purchasing and verifying entry tickets for foreign visitors to the Angkor Archaeological Park.

In a public notification issued on September 11, the state-run enterprise, responsible for managing and collecting revenue from ticket sales to the park, outlined its initial reforms. These changes are part of a broader plan to enhance the visitor experience at the ancient cultural complexes in Siem Reap.

One key improvement is the elimination of the requirement for passport photos and personal details, such as nationality, age, and gender, for visitors purchasing a one-day pass to the park. For those buying three-day or seven-day passes, only a passport photo will be required, primarily for security reasons, and this requirement will remain in place until December 31, 2024.

Additionally, ticket verification will no longer be conducted at the main gates to the park. Instead, tickets will be checked at the entrances to individual temples, streamlining the process for visitors.

These changes will take effect on October 9, 2024, with further improvements planned for early 2025, as part of the second phase of service upgrades.
