Cambodia, Thailand to Celebrate 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations in 2025

PHNOM PENH, September 11, 2024 — Deputy Prime Minister Sok Chenda Sophea, also serving as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with Chhet Kiet Attakan, the outgoing Thai Ambassador to Cambodia, to mark the conclusion of his tenure on September 10, 2024, at the Ministry.

During the farewell meeting, Sok Chenda Sophea lauded Ambassador Attakan's instrumental role in enhancing the bilateral relations between Cambodia and Thailand, which were elevated to a "Strategic Partnership" in February 2024. Looking ahead to 2025, the two nations plan to jointly commemorate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic ties with several celebratory events.

The Deputy Prime Minister also extended his gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for their unwavering support throughout Ambassador Attakan's diplomatic mission in Cambodia.
