Phnom Penh: The National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) has issued a strong warning against the unauthorized use of its logo and name on social media to promote investment projects or the informal trading of financial products. The NBC categorically denies any involvement in such activities and urges citizens to remain vigilant against these deceptive practices.

This announcement comes in response to reports that certain social media accounts have been misusing the NBC’s logo and name without permission, creating a misleading impression of endorsement or affiliation. These unauthorized entities have been promoting various investment schemes and informal financial trading activities, falsely suggesting a connection with the NBC.

In its statement, the NBC stressed, “The National Bank of Cambodia strongly rejects these illegal networks and calls on the public to be extra vigilant so as not to fall into fraudulent practices that could lead to financial loss or other asset depletion through joint ventures with unlicensed groups lacking proper oversight by authorities.”

The NBC further clarified that it does not operate any group channels, Telegram accounts, or other social media platforms for public investment in financial markets, including gold trading, exchange rates, or digital assets. The public is advised to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of any investment opportunities that claim affiliation with the NBC to avoid potential fraud.

The NBC continues to work towards safeguarding the financial interests of the Cambodian public and maintaining the integrity of its operations against any misuse of its identity.
