International Business Council Aims to Boost Tourism and Investment Between Shanghai and Cambodia

PHNOM PENH, September 04, 2024 — Mr. Zhou Minhao, Director General of the Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai (CPIT Shanghai), has confirmed discussions with Hun Manet, First Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, aiming to enhance tourism, trade, and private investment links between Shanghai and Cambodia.

The dialogue took place during a formal meeting where the Director General from Shanghai expressed the council's dedication to fostering the application of new digital technologies in managing investment projects. The CPIT Shanghai delegation also showed interest in co-hosting seminars and business forums, as well as facilitating private sector connections in Shanghai to bolster mutual investments.

In the course of the discussions, the Deputy Prime Minister underscored the key sectors that the Royal Government prioritizes for attracting investment, including electronics, automotive manufacturing, agriculture, and the agro-industrial sector.

Hun Manet expressed his readiness to assist investors in exploring Cambodia's potential and navigating the investment landscape prior to making their investment decisions.
