MAFF Releases 12 Videos Showcasing Key Sub-Sectors and Policy Programs

Phnom Penh – The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) is proud to announce the release of 12 consecutive videos that highlight the potential of five critical sub-sectors: agriculture, fisheries, forestry, rubber, and health and animal production. The videos will also address the fifth and sixth priority policy programs set forth by the Royal Government of Cambodia, as well as the seventh mandate concerning the deployment of commune agriculture officials and the promotion of modern farming communities.

These informative videos, produced with the generous support of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, are spearheaded by Mr. Kong Chanveasna, Secretary of State at MAFF, and are under the direct supervision of Ms. Im Rachana, Undersecretary of State for Information and Communication and Public Relations.

Ms. Im Rachana stressed the importance of these documentaries in showcasing the Ministry's previous conservation and development efforts. "Our goal is to provide the public with a clearer understanding of the dedicated work carried out by the leaders and civil servants at MAFF," she stated. "Their collaboration with various organizations and development partners is vital for promoting food security and advancing economic and environmental sustainability."

In acknowledging the production process, Ms. Rachana expressed her gratitude to Minister Dith Tina for his invaluable guidance and recommendations. This oversight has ensured that the videos authentically reflect the Ministry's operations and future objectives. "We are committed to our policy goals, which focus on empowering the Cambodian people to have food, use it sustainably, and ensure its availability for all," she added.

The first video, set to premiere on Monday evening, September 2, 2024, will spotlight the conservation of seabed fishery resources in the Koh Achme Ses area. This documentary had its initial screening at the opening ceremony of the 13th Cambodia International Film Festival 2024 and was also featured during the Beautiful Earth program, chaired by Minister Dith Tina on June 27, 2024.

With this initiative, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries aims to engage the public and raise awareness about the significance of these sub-sectors and the ongoing efforts to foster sustainable practices throughout Cambodia.
