Samdech Kong Sam Ol Passes Away at Age 94

Phnom Penh – In a solemn announcement, the Ministry of the Royal Palace shared the news of the passing of Samdech Kong Sam Ol. The esteemed Member of the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Royal Palace, Kong Sam Ol, passed away on September 2, 2024, at 08:35 AM at the age of 94.

Samdech Kong Sam Ol was a distinguished figure in Cambodian politics, holding numerous significant positions throughout his lengthy career. He served not only as a Deputy Prime Minister but also as the Chairman of the National Festival Organizing Committee International and as Vice President of the Cambodian Red Cross. His contributions to the nation have left an indelible mark on the country's development and humanitarian efforts.

Following his passing, his body has been laid to rest at a funeral home located at 83 Sok Hok Street (107), at the corner of St. Joseph Pros Tito (214), Sangkat Boeung Prolit, Khan 7 Makara, Phnom Penh.

The Ministry has extended an invitation to Samdech, Excellencies, Lok Chumteav, Neak Oknha, Oknha, Ladies and Gentlemen, to attend the funeral services as a sign of respect and mourning for a leader who dedicated his life to serving the Cambodian people.
