Phnom Penh: On August 18, 2024, a major police operation successfully dismantled a riot plan aimed at overthrowing the Cambodian government, resulting in the arrest of 31 individuals. This critical announcement was made by General Chhay Kim Khoeun, Deputy Commissioner and Spokesman for the National Police, who confirmed that among those arrested were two women involved in the conspiracy.

In light of escalating concerns regarding extremist opposition groups, both domestically and internationally, Prime Minister Hun Manet took immediate and decisive action. Under the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha and Dr. Neth Savoeun, the government implemented a robust strategy to enhance security and uphold public order.
