Prime Minister Calls for Unity in Organizing Traditional and Religious Ceremonies

Phnom Penh, August 15, 2024: Prime Minister Hun Manet has urged for greater unity in the organization of traditional and religious ceremonies across Cambodia. During a gathering with approximately 1,000 Achars and Acharinis (laymen and laywomen) in Phnom Penh this morning, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of establishing a common standard for traditional ceremonies and rituals, guided by clear reasoning and a shared sense of unity.

“We must preserve our culture and rituals with clear understanding, and most importantly, with unity and a strong national identity,” Hun Manet stated.

Additionally, the Prime Minister called on laymen and laywomen to play an active role in educating the younger generation on morality, urging them to steer clear of illicit drugs and activities that could harm security and social order.
