Cambodia Sees Boost in Tourism with Over 426,000 Visitors in Early August

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Tourism has announced that from August 5 to 11, 2024, Cambodia welcomed approximately 361,200 domestic tourists and 65,000 international visitors. This influx of travelers highlights the country's growing appeal as a destination of choice in the region.

During this period, the Angkor Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, sold 17,355 tickets to foreign tourists, marking a 3.7% increase compared to the previous period. This surge in visitors generated total revenue of $814,775, representing a 5.9% increase.

In addition to the rise in visitors to Angkor, Cambodia saw a total of 474 international flights arriving during the week. Of these, 356 flights landed at Phnom Penh International Airport, 103 at Siem Reap Angkor International Airport, and 15 at Sihanoukville International Airport. The steady flow of flights further underscores Cambodia's growing connectivity and attractiveness as a global tourist destination.
