The workers expressed their happiness and appreciation for the presence of the Minister and provincial leaders at the factory site. Their visit was seen as a testament to the government’s high regard for the well-being of workers, making them feel even more valued and supported.
During the visit, Mr. Heng Sour engaged with the workers, inquiring about the various benefits provided by the government, such as the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) membership cards and associated benefits, as well as essential working conditions. The Minister’s visit underscores his ongoing commitment to understanding and addressing the needs of workers across the country.
This visit is part of an ongoing effort by Mr. Heng Sour to maintain close contact with factory workers, ensuring that their welfare is continuously monitored and improved. His visit aligns with the broader vision of the Prime Minister, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, and the President of the Senate and former Prime Minister, to enhance workers’ conditions in line with the 10 recommendations set at the beginning of the last mandate.
These recommendations include the establishment of the minimum wage for 2024, the continuation of health checks for pregnant workers, the provision of healthcare to dependents through voluntary contributions, and improvements in various other working conditions. All these policies reflect the Royal Government’s commitment to providing additional benefits to workers.
It is important to note that, beyond the minimum wage, workers in Cambodia benefit from regular bonuses, travel allowances, seniority bonuses, and various other benefits, ensuring a comprehensive support system for their livelihoods.
