President of the CRC Donates 400 Million Riels to Support Search for Missing Helicopter and Pilots
Pusat: In a heartfelt gesture of support, Samdech Kittipritthbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross, has donated 400 million Riels to assist the forces involved in the search for the helicopter and pilots who went missing on July 12. This donation, amounting to 400,000 Riels per person, aims to alleviate the hardships faced by the dedicated search teams. The announcement was made by Mr. Kun Kim, First Vice Chairman of the National Committee for Disaster Management, during a press conference on the morning of July 30, 2024.
Mr. Kun Kim, representing the National Commission for Disaster Management, expressed profound gratitude to the front-line command led by General Ith Sarath, as well as the Joint Forces of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces. He commended the collaborative efforts of the army, air force, provincial coalition forces, government officials, doctors, and local citizens who have tirelessly supported the search operations over the past 18 days. Special thanks were extended to the Governor of Pursat for the active provision of food, equipment, and additional support from provincial, district, and communal forces, along with forest-savvy locals.
Kun Kim also acknowledged the significant contribution of the Helistar Cambodia aircraft's owner, who provided a plane to aid in the search. He noted that while air force planes were available, their large size hindered mobility, making the Helistar Cambodia aircraft particularly valuable. On behalf of the National Commission, Kun Kim expressed deep appreciation to the pilots and instructors for their dedicated efforts and sacrifices in the search mission.
