Cambodia says British Nationals do Qualify for Alternative State Quarantine

Phnom Penh: In an official note to the British Embassy, the Ministry of Foreigners Affairs has clarified that passengers from the UK can book their own quarantine directly at one of the four approved hotels. These are Sofitel, Sokha Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Phnom Penh and Raffles Hotel le Royal.

The Inter-Ministerial Committee to Combat Covid-19 has declared that British nationals do not need to stay at the OK Boutique Hotel on Street 174 in Phnom Penh, but can book their quarantine directly at one of the capital’s four ASQ hotels. Passengers with no prior bookings are being sent to quarantine hotels at random on arrival at Phnom Penh International.

There was some confusion when the ASQ pilot project first launched with British nationals apparently being told they could not book their 14-day quarantine stays directly and had to stay at the OK Boutique Hotel. The Alternative State Quarantine was launched last month and allows incoming passengers to pre-book their 14-day stays.
