Cambodia and Sri Lanka Commit to Enhanced Cooperation as Sri Lankan Ambassador Concludes Term

PHNOM PENH, July 23, 2024 — Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Sok Chendasophea, met with the outgoing Sri Lankan Ambassador to Cambodia, Colon A. Phu Hamilach Jaminda Inoka Kolon, to mark the conclusion of her diplomatic tenure. Ambassador Kolon, who is based in Bangkok, paid a farewell visit to the Ministry in Phnom Penh.

During the meeting, both officials reflected positively on the strong relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Sri Lanka. They discussed ways to further enhance bilateral ties, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and tourism, which promise mutual benefits for both nations. The discussions also covered strategies to strengthen their partnership through regional and international bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Kolon expressed her gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for their extensive support during her mission. She reaffirmed her commitment to continue fostering the relationship between the two countries even after her diplomatic duties conclude.
