Suspect Detained, 10 Pieces of Drugs Confiscated Weighing 9,955.65 Grams

Siem Reap: Thun Chhavan, also known as Nat or Mab, a 28-year-old male, has been arrested with 10 methamphetamine tablets weighing 9,955.65 grams and 5 pink methamphetamine tablets weighing 0.50 grams. This information was released in a press statement by the Siem Reap Provincial Prosecutor's Office on July 20, 2024.

According to the spokesperson, the Siem Reap Provincial Prosecutor's Office initiated action in Criminal Case No. 1016, dated July 20, 2024, involving 10 drug cases with a total weight of 9,955.65 grams.

Following a thorough examination of the case file, interviews with the suspects, and evaluation of the evidence, the prosecution has charged Thun Chhavan and his accomplices with illegal transportation, trafficking, and use of drugs. These offenses occurred in Puok Thmey village, Puok commune, Puok district, Siem Reap province, on July 17, 2024.

The spokesperson emphasized that these criminal charges fall under the purview of Article 40 and Article 45 of the Law on Drug Control. The case has been formally submitted to the investigating judge of the Siem Reap Provincial Court under Submission Order No. 1528 IED, dated July 20, 2024, for further legal proceedings.
