“In view of the revealed truth, the sentences handed down against Alex and his accomplices are very light!”
PHNOM PENH: A series of publicly leaked videos have revealed a major conspiracy involving a foreign national, Alexjandro Gonzales Davidson.
On the surface, Alex and his accomplices posed as a young environmental group, but inside, as in the leaked videos, their projects had nothing to do with the environment. Rather, these were merely anti-state plots aimed at overthrowing the Royal Government of Cambodia.
They insulted His Majesty the King and showed contempt towards Cambodian leaders. On top of that, this foreigner Alex had revealed his plan to establish an overseas secretariat to wage resistance against the government with help from foreign funding. From providing concepts for caricature, and initiating activities aimed at toppling the government or often known as the Color Revolution, to raising fund from donors, Alex is indeed the mastermind and the main culprit.
The youths who called themselves environmental activists are undoubtedly the real colluders, because not only did they receive orders from Alex, whom they called "Father", but they also contributed ideas and supported the execution of the plans.
These three leaked videos clearly showed that their past actions under the banner of young environmental activists were a sheer disguise intended to deceive public opinion.
The environment issue was a mere cover for their plots to overthrow the government.
According to the leaked videos, Alex also revealed some names of his accomplices, including Pa Nguon Teang and the Radio Free Asia in Washington DC as well as in Bangkok.
Before, I always wondered why this environmental group never planted a tree or helped clean up the environment like other environmental groups.
Instead, the group often conducted its activities in a provocative manner, using baseless accusations, slandering and distorting facts, and carrying out actions comparable to those of political activists.
In addition, they had conducted odd activities such as wrapping their heads with a Krama (Cambodian traditional scarf) or with white scarf (reminiscent of a funeral), while holding up protest banners, or dressing up as ghosts, etc.
Should these activities be considered acts of environmental protection? Only now do we realize that all of these activities are efforts aimed at sparking social unrest within the larger plot of the Color Revolution, which was entirely planned by Alex.
Tracing the plot organized by Alex also leads to connections with many other conspirators.
For instance, whenever his group took actions, especially when provoking the authorities, their networks, including some local civil society organizations that receive foreign funding and some foreign organizations that are donors, as well as overseas-based propaganda outlets for extremists such as Radio Free Asia, The Cambodia Daily and VOD, have always come forward to defend them in a well-coordinated manner.
What is even more striking is that they often act without fear, in defiance of the law and the authorities.
Furthermore, when many unions asked the Ministry of Interior to conduct a financial audit on CENTRAL (Center for Alliance of Labor and Human Rights), some international NGOs suddenly stepped forward to ask the Ministry not to proceed in examination of CENTRAL’s source of funding.
If these organizations acted in good faith, why are they afraid of transparency when transparency is exactly what they have always asked for?
Such coordination explains the complex and intertwined networks of revolutionary movements that often attempt to cause chaos and create endless storms against sympathetic Cambodia.
In this context, Cambodian leaders deserve great respect for their wise and timely action to prevent the Color Revolution from progressing.
Seeing is believing. I can only feel that the sentences handed down by the Cambodian court against Alex and his accomplices are very light.
As a Cambodian, I would like to plead with the court to impose harsher sentences on the foreigner Alex and his accomplices given the seriousness of the crimes of treason and collusion they committed.
With the solid evidence of the leaked videos, will there be other organizations or associations that will come to the defense of Alex and his accomplices? Who else still considers this group environmentalist?
