
Cambodian PM Stresses Importance of Peace and Cultural Preservation at Museum Groundbreaking
Siem Reap, 18 July 2024: Prime Minister Hun Manet, along with Dr. Pech Chanmony, presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Samdech Preah Prohm Ratanamony Pin Sem Museum at Wat Reach Bo in Siem Reap City. The ceremony marked a significant step in the preservation of Cambodia's cultural heritage.
The museum's construction is projected to cost US $1,039,660.79, excluding design and decoration costs, and is scheduled for completion within 24 months.
In his speech, Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted the profound importance of peace for Cambodia's national development. He reflected on the country's past marked by war, loss of land, and cultural heritage, noting that with peace and unity, Cambodia has seen remarkable progress and stability.

Future Plans and Initiatives: Prime Minister Hun Manet mentioned various initiatives, including potential reductions in airport fees during low seasons, developing infrastructure for the industrial sector in Siem Reap, and promoting online services for health, immigration, and customs to facilitate tourism.
