Cambodia and China Discuss Drug Control

Phnom Penh, 17 July 2024: Cambodian and Chinese anti-illicit drug authorities held their 11th bilateral meeting on counter-narcotics cooperation.

General Meas Virith, Secretary General of Cambodia's National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD), and Lan Feihong, Deputy Secretary General of the National Narcotics Control Commission of the People's Republic of China, co-chaired the meeting on July 15 in Phnom Penh.

During the meeting, both sides revisited measures to prevent and crack down on drug offenses and production, as well as outreach activities to rehabilitate and educate victims of illicit drugs.

General Meas Virith highly valued the enhanced cooperation between Cambodia and China on drug control, expressing gratitude for the technical and capacity-building support provided by China.

Lan Feihong emphasized that the bilateral cooperation has led to significant crackdowns on many cross-border drug cases in 2023.
