Labour Ministry, JBAC Sign Internship Cooperation

Phnom Penh, July 11, 2024 – The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and the Japanese Business Association of Cambodia (JBAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance internship opportunities for Cambodian graduates.

The MoU was signed by Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, and Fukuhara Koji, JBAC President, in Phnom Penh on Tuesday.

This agreement aims to promote capacity building and skills exchange, enhancing the productivity of Cambodia's labor force, particularly targeting youth from poor and vulnerable families.

Fukuhara Koji stated that the MoU will open up more internship opportunities at Japanese companies in Cambodia, providing a platform to promote high technical skills among Cambodian youths.

Minister Heng Sour emphasized that the internships are not only about capacity building but also about giving graduates the experience of a real workplace environment after completing their education.
