PHNOM PENH, July 10, 2024 — President To Lam of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is set to embark on a state visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia from July 12-13, 2024, following an invitation by King Norodom Sihamoni. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that this visit aims to deepen the bilateral and multilateral relations between the two nations.
During his stay, President Lam will engage in discussions with key Cambodian dignitaries including King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk at the Royal Palace.
Additionally, President Lam's agenda includes meetings with prominent Cambodian leaders such as Hun Sen, President of the Senate; Yuon Sodary, President of the National Assembly; and Prime Minister Hun Manet. These discussions are anticipated to focus on enhancing the cooperative ties between Vietnam and Cambodia, emphasizing the longstanding spirit of good neighborliness and mutual benefit.
President Lam will also pay his respects at several significant sites in Phnom Penh, including the Independence Monument and the statues of King Norodom Sihanouk and the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Monument. Furthermore, President Lam is scheduled to meet with Dr. Men Sam An, President of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association.
This visit underscores the ongoing commitment of both nations to foster a relationship built on traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation, aiming to benefit the people of both Vietnam and Cambodia.
