Ministry of Cults and Religion Instructs Religious Shrines to Sound Bells, Drums for groundbreaking ceremony of the Prek Chik Funan Techo project.

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Cult and Religions has directed provincial Departments of Cult and Religions to arrange for the ringing of bells, the beating of drums, and the sounding at various religious temples including Wat Mondul, Vipassana centers, Ashrams, and Sala Bon Vihear. This initiative is set for August 5, 2024, at 9:09 a.m., in celebration of the Royal Government of Cambodia's groundbreaking ceremony for the Prek Chik Funan Techo project.

Dr. Hun Manet, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, will preside over the groundbreaking ceremony of the Funan Techo Canal Prek Chik project, marking a historical milestone for future generations.

The Ministry has instructed the Capital and Provincial Departments of Cult and Religions to collaborate with local religious leaders, including chiefs, vice-chancellors, chief inspectors, and leaders of all faiths, to ensure that each religious site is prepared for this solemn celebration, allowing all members to participate meaningfully.
