Senate President Hun Sen Clarifies Remarks on Germany's Euro 2024 Prospects

Phnom Penh: In a lighthearted moment during a meeting on June 28, 2024, Senate President Hun Sen commented that Germany would win, specifically referring to their performance in the round of 16, not the entire 2024 European Cup. Hun Sen clarified his remarks in a Facebook post on July 3, 2024.

With the round of 16 now concluded, he emphasized, "I did not say Germany has won, so do not blame me if any German fans bet on losing."

Reflecting on recent sporting events, Hun Sen shared that he has won six out of eight matches against his frequent competitors, notably in golf.

He concluded with a piece of advice: "Ball is free to choose, but do not gamble, be careful."
