Phnom Penh, July 2, 2024 – This Tuesday morning, Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Manet welcomed the Executive Board of the Khmer Artists Association, led by Chumteav Mao Channary, at the Peace Palace for a courtesy call and work discussion.
The Khmer Artists Association was established in 2006 and has now been in existence for 18 years, spanning six terms. The association has contributed to promoting the social and moral values of Khmer artists, ensuring their honor and dignity as national representatives. This has been achieved through the preservation and development of national arts and culture, as well as by organizing its members as a core force.
The association has sought support from philanthropists and capable individuals to uplift the arts and culture, focusing on securing resources for training and enhancing the capabilities of young artists to create new artistic works. Additionally, the Khmer Artists Association has played a role in preserving, promoting, and developing national arts and culture, supporting the livelihoods of elderly or incapacitated artists, and participating in social and humanitarian activities in line with the government's policies.
