First Meeting of Tourism Board to Foster Public-Private Collaboration Starts

Phnom Penh, July 1, 2024 - Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Cambodia Tourism Marketing and Promotion Board (CTB) Sok Soken, chaired a meeting to review the CTB's progress.

Following the Royal Government Decision dated June 27, 2024, Prime Minister Hun Manet, appointed the official composition of the CTB, which includes representatives from eight public institutions and seven private sectors.

The CTB will serve as a facilitative and receptive platform, enabling the private sector to collaborate fully with the Royal Government under the principle of “think together, act together, and take responsibility together.” This cooperation spans funding, technical, and conceptual contributions, promoting the development of Cambodia's tourism sector. This effort aligns with the rapidly evolving global and regional tourism trends, requiring high flexibility to ensure sustainable, inclusive, and resilient growth.

The CTB aims to address various challenges within the tourism sector and achieve targeted development goals. It is envisioned as a dynamic platform facilitating full cooperation between the private sector and the government, adhering to the principles of joint thinking, action, and shared responsibility. This includes financial, technical, and conceptual contributions to propel Cambodia’s tourism industry forward.

The establishment of the CTB is expected to play a pivotal role in realizing the government's vision of transforming Cambodia into a vibrant and leading tourism destination.
