
Celebrating 73 Years of the Cambodian People's Party, Hun Sen Reflects on Decades of Nation-Building
Phnom Penh, June 28, 2024 – This morning, Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), commemorated the 73rd anniversary of the party's establishment with a heartfelt message to the nation.
Hun Sen highlighted that today, June 28, marks 73 years since the founding of the CPP (June 28, 1951 - June 28, 2024). He praised the party for consistently living up to its founding principles of solidarity with the people and commitment to surmounting all challenges with relentless sacrifice, aiming to sustain an independent, peaceful, democratic, neutral, and prosperous Cambodian society.
He further credited the CPP with significant contributions to the nation's development, emphasizing its unique role in rallying patriotic forces to form the United Front for National Salvation of Cambodia. This coalition was crucial in mobilizing a national movement to overthrow the genocidal regime of Pol Pot.
Hun Sen stated that the CPP continues to serve as a pivotal reference point in the ongoing efforts to build and develop the nation, looking back at past achievements and forward to future progress.
