This initiative represents a significant development within Cambodia’s higher education sector, urging both private and public universities to embrace technological advancements to enhance educational offerings nationwide.

Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted the critical role of technology and ICT in today’s educational landscape, urging institutions to foster and support these essential skills. He encouraged all CCUN member institutions to collaborate on sharing data center resources, acknowledging the financial challenges some universities face in affording their own.

Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron detailed the composition of CCUN, which includes 12 public and private higher education institutions. The network aims to maximize the use of infrastructure and academic resources among its members, facilitate the transfer of study credits, and provide open educational opportunities to scholars both locally and globally.

Minister Naron noted that CCUN members have collectively developed educational content for 69 subjects across 18 specialized undergraduate programs, serving over 5,000 students. Member institutions participating in this initiative are the Institute of Technology of Cambodia, Royal University of Phnom Penh, National University of Battambang, Svay Rieng University, Heng Samrin-Thbong Khmum University, Royal University of Agriculture, National University of Management, Chea Sim Kamchay Mear University, University of Kratie, Battambang Institute of Pedagogy, Phnom Penh International University, and Angkor University.
