Inauguration of Xi Jinping Boulevard Marks a New Milestone in Cambodia’s Infrastructure Development

Phnom Penh, June 24, 2024: On the morning of June 23, 2024, Minister Peng Po Nea, of Public Works and Transport, along with Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, inspected the newly completed Xi Jinping Boulevard, set for its imminent inauguration.

Spanning 47.10 kilometers through Phnom Penh and Kandal Province, Xi Jinping Boulevard is a significant addition to Cambodia's infrastructure. Constructed with reinforced concrete, the boulevard begins at km 14 + 105 of National Road No. 4 and concludes at km 24 + 840 of National Road No. 1. This new arterial road exemplifies the numerous substantial accomplishments materializing in the era of Techo Peace—a testament to the Royal Government's enduring commitment to the nation's long-term utility and welfare.

The naming of the Third Ring Road as "Xi Jinping Blvd" was officiated on May 28, 2024, at the Peace Palace, under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet and in the presence of Wang Wentian, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Cambodia.
