Over 1,300 Competitors Registered for the 9th Angkor Empire Marathon 2024

Phnom Penh, June 21, 2024 – The 9th edition of the Angkor Empire Marathon, set for July 4 in Siem Reap, has already attracted 1,376 participants, including both national and international runners, announced Vath Chamroeun, General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, during a press conference in Phnom Penh on June 20.

The event, which anticipates approximately 3,000 runners in total, has seen a significant number of entrants from Japan, China, and Malaysia. The marathon aims to raise funds for humanitarian causes, boost tourism to the Angkor site, and promote the development of sports in Cambodia, according to the National Olympic Committee.

The 2024 Angkor Empire Marathon will feature four races: a full marathon (42 km), a half-marathon (21 km), a 10 km race, and a fun 3 km run designed for families and children.
