Ministry of Environment Distributes 30 Motorbikes for Sustainability Project

Koh Kong: The Ministry of Environment has distributed 30 motorbikes to seven target provinces for the implementation of the project "Sustainable Landscape and Sustainable Tourism in Cambodia". The motorbikes were given to Koh Kong Provincial Department of Environment, Kampong Speu Provincial Department of Environment, Kampong Chhnang Provincial Department of Environment. Pursat Provincial Department of Environment, Battambang Provincial Department of Environment, Siem Reap Provincial Department of Environment and Kampong Thom Provincial Department of Environment.

The ministry says the provision of these materials is projected to the Department of Environment in some provinces to strengthen the protection and conservation of natural resources in protected areas more effectively.

 This six-year project aims to improve the management of protected areas, promoting the development of eco-tourism and Increase the value chain of non-timber forest products in the Cardamom and Tonle Sap landscape. It will also help to increase biodiversity, ensure ecological services and improve the communities living around and in protected areas.
