Prime Minister Hun Manet and First Lady Pich Chanmony Extend Greetings to Cambodian Muslims on Raya Haji

Phnom Penh, June 17, 2024 – Prime Minister Hun Manet and First Lady Pich Chanmony have extended their heartfelt congratulations and blessings to the Cambodian Muslim community on the occasion of Raya Haji. This year, the significant religious festival coincides with the 10th day of Zul-Hijjah 1445 in the Islamic calendar, marking the 11th day of the month of Chesth in the Buddhist era 2568, which falls on June 17, 2024.

In a thoughtful gesture, the couple acknowledged the 910 Cambodian Muslims who undertook the Hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, joining over two million faithful from across the globe in fulfilling this sacred duty.

The Prime Minister expressed his good wishes via a Facebook post: "On behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, my wife and I send our warmest congratulations and best wishes to all Cambodian Muslims, both here and abroad, as well as to the global Muslim community, celebrating Raya Haji today."

He further expressed gratitude towards the Cambodian Muslims for their role in fostering peace and religious harmony within the country. "We are deeply thankful to our Cambodian Muslim brothers and sisters who contribute to maintaining peace alongside Cambodians of various faiths under the compassionate leadership of the Royal Government," he added.

Concluding his message, Hun Manet wished for continued success in their religious activities and for joy, prosperity, and well-being to permeate the lives of all. "May this day bring happiness, joy, and prosperity to everyone. Thank you and do not be discouraged," he stated.
