PM Issues Sub-decree to Secure Data Exchange Through ‘CamDX’

Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen has issued a sub-decree securing data exchange in the kingdom through the Cambodia Data Exchange Platform, or CamDX. This is an effort to ease the business registration process and create an attractive atmosphere for investment. The sub-decree was signed by the Prime Minister on Tuesday and promotes a transparent, accountable, efficient and effective public service to promote the adoption of digital transformation in line with the digital economic and social policy framework.

The sub-decree applies to all data exchange operations through the public sector, including ministries, institutions, public entities, public institutions, public enterprises, other autonomous financial institutions and sub-national administrations, as well as the private sector. It emphasizes that the exchange of data should be in accordance with the relevant legal documents in the field of defense, security and public order.

CamDx was launched by the government last June, digitalizing business registration services. It’s an information technology platform protecting information from online hacking and unauthorized modification of the original data. The sub-decree highlights that the platform is encrypted and adheres to a digital signature to ensure safety, integrity and data accuracy as well as a time-stamp of any data changes.
