Cambodia Selected as Host for AFC U17 Championship 2025 Qualifiers

PHNOM PENH, June 3, 2024 – The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) has confirmed that Cambodia has been chosen to host the qualifiers for the AFC U17 Championship 2025. This pivotal event will take place from October 19 to 27, 2024, setting the stage for the final championship round in Saudi Arabia in 2025.

Cambodia’s participation in this prestigious youth football tournament places them in Group 3, alongside formidable teams from Malaysia, Bangladesh, Palestine, the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines, India, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, and Singapore. This diverse group promises a series of competitive matches, showcasing young talents from across the region.

The selection of Cambodia as a host reflects the country's growing reputation in the international sports arena, particularly in organizing high-profile sporting events. The hosting opportunity is expected to bring significant attention and economic benefits to the country, including increased tourism and international exposure.

Following the Cambodian leg of the qualifiers, additional rounds will be hosted across Asia by China, Taiwan, Laos, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Each host country will provide a platform for the young athletes to demonstrate their skills on an international stage.
