APSARA National Authority to Install Automatic Water Management Stations at Angkor Site

PHNOM PENH, May 24, 2024 — The APSARA National Authority, in collaboration with SIAVB, France, will install automatic water management stations at the Angkor site, according to a news release issued on May 22.

At the SIAVB headquarters in France on May 21, Dr. Hang Peou, Director General of APSARA National Authority, met with Jean-Michel Bordes, Director General of SIAVB, Jacques Bellier, President of AGERA, and technical officers from various institutions involved in the project "Siem Reap Angkor Water Management Automated Assistance System (SDGERA)" to review technical preparations for the installation of six automatic water management stations at the Angkor site in June.

In November 2023, Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts and Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of APSARA National Authority, led a delegation to attend a pilot launch of these stations at SIAVB. The pilot test achieved highly efficient results.

The APSARA National Authority and SIAVB signed a Decentralised Cooperation Agreement on the Siem Reap Angkor Water Management Automated Assistance System (SDGERA) project on December 16, 2022.
