Cambodian Prime Minister to Embark on Key Visit to South Korea

PHNOM PENH, April 13, 2024 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet is set to lead a high-level delegation on an official visit to the Republic of Korea this week, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The visit, scheduled from May 15 to 19, 2024, comes at the invitation of President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea.

Joining Hun Manet will be First Lady Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, who is also the First Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, Deputy Prime Minister Sok Chenda Sophea, who also serves as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with other ministers, key government officials, and representatives from the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce.

During the visit, Hun Manet will engage in bilateral talks with President Yoon Suk Yeol aimed at deepening partnerships and broadening cooperation across multiple sectors. These discussions are anticipated to propel bilateral relations to greater heights.

The prime minister's itinerary also includes witnessing the signing of several agreements focusing on economic development and infrastructure. Additionally, Hun Manet will meet with Han Duck-soo, the Prime Minister of South Korea, and Kim Jin-pyo, Speaker of the National Assembly.

The prime minister's engagements will further extend to participating in a Cambodia-ROK business forum where he will interact with Korean companies and Cambodians living in South Korea, fostering greater ties and opportunities for collaboration.
