Over 2,500 Participants from 16 Countries Converge at Cambodia International Trade Fair 2024

PHNOM PENH, April 13, 2024 – The Cambodia International Trade Fair 2024 has successfully brought together more than 2,500 business operators from 16 countries to explore investment opportunities within the Kingdom. This grand event is currently being held at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh and will run for three days starting May 10.

The fair was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister Vongsey Vissoth, who oversees the Office of the Council of Ministers. In his opening remarks, the Minister of Commerce, Mrs. Cham Nimul, stressed the significance of the fair as a pivotal networking hub for major business operators and investors from both the public and private sectors. She emphasized the event as a platform for sharing experiences and fostering collaborations.

According to Minister Nimul, the trade fair offers an excellent opportunity for showcasing Cambodian products and services and for businesses to discover potential partners and markets. She reiterated the Ministry of Commerce’s commitment to supporting and facilitating investment through a series of reforms and by creating a favorable investment climate, endorsed by the Royal Government of Cambodia.

Reflecting on the recent economic data, Cambodia's trade volume reached $16.913 million in the first four months of 2024, marking a 12 percent increase from the previous year. Exports alone tallied up to $8 billion, showing a growth of 2 percent, signaling a robust momentum in Cambodia’s trade activities that contributes significantly to the national economy.
