Russia Pledges Support for Cambodia in Law Enforcement and Human Resource Training

PHNOM PENH, May 8, 2024 – Russia has committed to bolstering its relationship with Cambodia, with a particular focus on law enforcement cooperation and human resource training. This commitment was emphasized during a meeting between Russian Ambassador Anatoly Borovik and Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha at the Ministry of Interior on May 6.

The collaboration is set to include exchange visits and joint initiatives in combating terrorism and espionage alongside the National Police of Cambodia. Ambassador Borovik lauded the Ministry of Interior for its effective security measures and for fostering cooperation with Russia.

Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha expressed appreciation for Russia's ongoing support to Cambodia, highlighting its significant role in enhancing the country’s security and developmental efforts. The discussions underscored a mutual interest in strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing security cooperation between the two nations.
