APSARA Authority Launches Training Program on Temple Conservation and Restoration Techniques

PHNOM PENH, May 8, 2024 – The Department of Public Order of the APSARA Authority has initiated a comprehensive training course focusing on the transfer of knowledge and skills to successors engaged in the conservation and restoration of temples. The event was chaired by Long Kosal, Deputy Director General, with the distinguished presence of Hang Pov, Director General of the APSARA Authority, and Im Sokrithy, Director of the Research, Training, and Dissemination Department. The training session welcomed a total of 25 participants, including officers, staff, travel agents, and law enforcement agencies of the APSARA Authority dedicated to the preservation and restoration of temples in the Angkor area.

Deputy Director General Long Kosal stressed the critical importance of this training program in enhancing the participants' capacity to manage their daily tasks effectively and to acquire additional knowledge pertinent to the preservation and restoration of temples in the targeted areas. He urged all participants to fully engage in the learning process to enrich their understanding and contribute more effectively to the protection, conservation, and sustainable development of Angkor.

The training program on temple conservation and restoration techniques spans seven days, commencing from May 7th to May 13th, 2024.
