Cambodia Eager to Strengthen Ties with Qatar

Phnom Penh, 08 May, 2024: Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed Cambodia's commitment to fostering and expanding its relationship with the State of Qatar during a cordial meeting with H.E. Khalid Ali Abdullah Abel, the non-resident Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Qatar to Cambodia, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh today.

In their discussions, both parties expressed mutual eagerness to bolster cooperation across various key sectors, including diplomacy, trade, investment, education, and vocational training.

Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized the importance of facilitating business interactions between Qatari companies and relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions. He encouraged the ambassador to play a pivotal role in fostering these connections, underscoring the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships.

Khalid Ali Abdullah Abel echoed Hun Manet's sentiments, pledging to leverage his diplomatic mission to elevate bilateral relations to new heights. He expressed a commitment to promoting collaboration and enhancing ties between the two nations during his tenure in Cambodia.

Furthermore, the ambassador conveyed Qatar's intentions to facilitate visits by Qatari investors to Cambodia, aiming to explore investment opportunities and forge strategic business alliances.
