Cambodian Karate Team Secures Seven Medals at Southeast Asian Championships

PHNOM PENH, April 29, 2024 — Cambodian karate athletes have returned from the 11th Southeast Asian Karate Federation Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, with a haul of seven medals, boosting the nation's standing in regional martial arts competitions.

The championships, which ran from April 24 to 26, saw the Cambodian team win one silver and six bronze medals across various categories. The athletes excelled in individual senior male kumite for the 55kg, 67kg, 75kg, and 84kg weight classes, and in team events for senior male kumite, senior male kata (performance), and senior female kata.

The Cambodian delegation, comprising 39 members including coaches, officials, and athletes, is expected to arrive back in Phnom Penh on April 27 at noon, marking a triumphant return from a highly competitive event.
