Phnom Penh, Cambodia, March 21, 2024: In a diplomatic gesture, Mr. Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand, engaged in bilateral discussions with Cheam Yeap, the Acting President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on the morning of March 21, 2024.
Mr. Cheam Yeap hailed the visit as a pivotal moment in the history of bilateral relations, emphasizing the importance of nurturing traditional friendship and enhancing cooperation between the two neighboring nations. In alignment with recent discussions between Prime Minister Hun Manet and Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, both sides reiterated their commitment to promoting tourism under the slogan "Two Kingdoms, One Goal," aiming to bolster economic growth and cultural exchange.
Acknowledging the substantial contributions of over one million Cambodian migrant workers to Thailand's socio-economic development, Mr. Cheam Yeap extended gratitude to the Thai Parliament and the Royal Government of Thailand for safeguarding their rights and facilitating opportunities for legitimate employment.
In response, Mr. Wan Muhamad Noor Matha expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the Cambodian National Assembly and echoed sentiments regarding the significant strides made in bilateral relations.
