Cambodia's CPP Leader Celebrates Putin's Re-election as Russian President

Phnom Penh, March 20, 2024 – The leader of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), Hun Sen, has warmly congratulated Vladimir Putin on securing a fifth term as the President of the Russian Federation.

In a message of felicitation dated March 19, Hun Sen expressed his sincere joy over Putin's re-election. "I extend my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of your re-election as President of the Russian Federation for a fifth term," he stated.

Hun Sen highlighted the longstanding and cherished relationship between Cambodia and Russia, built on mutual respect, shared values, and common interests. He emphasized that the nearly seven-decade-long friendship has been underpinned by a solid foundation of political trust, fostering deep cooperation across various domains.
