Phnom Penh, March 18, 2024 - The workers of the Y & W factory in Phnom Penh have openly expressed their appreciation and joy towards the Royal Government for its proactive efforts in ensuring their welfare. This comes following the intervention of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and the National Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, aimed at enriching the workers with knowledge about new job opportunities and the myriad benefits offered by the social security system.

Hul Layhak, a 24-year-old prominent worker at the Y & W factory located in Prek Chrey village, Spean Thmor commune, Dangkor district, shared insights into the visit made by representatives from the NSSF, National Employment Agency, and the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training on Sunday, March 17. The visit was centered on educating the workers residing in the dormitories near the Y & W factory about the latest employment opportunities, social security benefits, and the labor ministry's initiatives tailored for worker welfare.

Layhak emphasized, "The Royal Government genuinely prioritizes our well-being, ensuring that we, the workers at Y & W factory, have sustainable incomes and job security to improve our lives."

In a similar vein, Ms. Phuong Srey Nich, a 21-year-old ironworker at the factory, residing in Prek Kamping village, Sangkat Prek Kampus, Khan Dangkor, expressed her satisfaction with the government's outreach and the detailed explanation of job benefits. She highlighted the government's dedication to resolving the concerns of all Y & W factory workers.

Additionally, Ms. Nich encouraged her fellow workers eager for new job opportunities to register with the Ministry of Labor's agency stationed directly outside the Y & W factory. This initiative is part of a broader effort to facilitate immediate employment and financial stability for the workforce.

As of March 17, 2024, the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training has introduced over 2,500 job vacancies not only for the workers at the Y & W factory but also for the local community. Moreover, the ministry has urged those awaiting resolution on their wages and other entitlements to seek employment through the National Employment Agency (NEA), promising swift access to new jobs and immediate salary benefits.
