Zambia Vows to Deepen Economic Ties with Cambodia

Phnom Penh, March 15, 2024 – The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia, Morecome Mumba, has committed to intensifying efforts to bolster friendship and cooperation between Zambia and Cambodia. A primary focus of his tenure will be to stimulate investment and enhance trade volumes between the two nations, particularly in the sectors of mining and agriculture.

Ambassador Mumba made this commitment during his presentation of credentials and subsequent courtesy visit on the morning of March 15, 2024, at the Senate, where he was received by Say Chhum, the Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

On this auspicious occasion, Say Chhum acknowledged the strong ties that currently exist between the two countries and expressed confidence that Ambassador Mumba will successfully drive efforts to deepen the connection between their peoples.

Say Chhum further highlighted that various branches of Cambodia's government, including the Senate, National Assembly, Royal Government, Ministries, and National Institutions, are all keen to collaborate with the Zambian Ambassador. These bodies aim to foster friendly relations and cultivate mutually beneficial cooperation that serves the interests of both nations and their citizens.
