Phnom Penh, March 15, 2024 – Cambodia and the United Kingdom are set to strengthen their military relations, as confirmed in a recent meeting between Gen. Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), and Colonel Eddie Maskell-Pedersen, Defence Attaché of the UK Embassy in Cambodia.

During the meeting held on March 14, Gen. Vong Pisen expressed optimism for the Defence Attaché's tenure contributing to the growing military cooperation between the two nations.

Gratitude was expressed towards the UK for its ongoing support to Cambodia in several key areas, including financial contributions for natural resource conservation and the extension of preferential tariffs. The UK's involvement in demining operations, educational scholarships for Cambodian students, and assistance in combating the COVID-19 pandemic were also acknowledged.
