MoEYS & U.Y.F.C Launch Training of Trainers for 'Good Citizens' Consciousness'

Phnom Penh: On the morning of March 9, 2024, Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports, alongside Mr. Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Civil Service, and President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, presided over the Opening Ceremony of the Training of Trainers for "Good Citizens' Consciousness" at the Mani Center, The Kampus Building.

This event was co-organized by the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports and the President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, along with 279 members of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, the working group of the Good Citizens' Consciousness Program, and teachers were in attendance.

Mr. Many expressed gratitude for the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports' efforts in leading the training of Cambodian youth to become pillars of the nation and contribute to society. He particularly acknowledged the collaboration with the U.Y.F.C in providing refresher courses for students preparing for high school exams and supporting education reform.

His emphasized the importance of regular training in good citizenship, stating, "The training of good citizens should not be reactionary but ongoing." He highlighted that the workshop would cultivate the consciousness, will, and good citizenship of Cambodian youth to become pillars and vital resources for the nation's future.

Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister, commended the efforts of leaders and working groups at all levels of the two institutions in initiating the "Good Citizens' Consciousness" program alongside the state's official study program. He emphasized the program's aim to develop the ability, will, responsibility, and good citizenship of youth to participate in national development and harmony maintenance.

The program will integrate theory with practical projects in schools and communities, as well as study visits for students to understand the history and struggles of previous generations in nation-building.

Dr. Deputy Prime Minister encouraged all stakeholders to ensure the smooth and successful implementation of this training program.
