Phnom Penh: China has pledged a grant of 53.2 million yuan (approximately US$7.2 million) to support the renovation of the Cambodian Council of Ministers building.
The agreement for this generous assistance was formalized on March 4, with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in Charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, Vongsey Vissoth, and Economic and Trade Advisor to the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, Ms. Zhong Jie, signing a memorandum of understanding.
Deputy Prime Minister Vongsey Vissoth conveyed the Royal Government of Cambodia's profound appreciation for China's support, emphasizing the deep and enduring relationship between the two nations. This relationship, established by Cambodia's Late King-Father Norodom Sihanouk with China's senior leaders, has been continuously valued and nurtured by the Cambodian government.
Vongsey Vissoth affirmed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, Cambodia is keen on further strengthening and expanding its ties with China. This grant aid is a testament to the strong friendship and mutual respect between the two countries, reflecting their shared commitment to development and prosperity.
