Cambodia-U.S. Bilateral Trade Sees Notable Increase, Reaching $626 Million in January 2024

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Commerce announced a 7.74% increase in bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and the United States, from $581 million in January 2023 to $626 million in January 2024. This announcement came during a meeting between the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, Buon Sarak Mony, and a delegation from the US-ASEAN Business Council, representing 17 prominent companies. The meeting focused on enhancing trade ties and exploring investment opportunities for U.S. companies in Cambodia, including major firms like Abbott, ADM, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Estée Lauder Companies, FedEx Express, Ford, Jhpiego, Manulife, Mastercard, Meta, Pfizer, Philip Morris International, RMA Group, Roche, Tilleke & Gibbins, and Visa.

The Secretary of State briefed the U.S. delegation on Cambodia's efforts to bolster the business environment, highlighting the launch of a mobile application for consumer protection (CCF App) and a public call center to access the Ministry's services. These initiatives underscore Cambodia's commitment to facilitating trade and investment, and improving consumer protection.

Discussions also ventured into strategies for deepening cooperation and mutual support, aiming to further advance the trade and investment relationship between the two nations. This meeting not only reflects the growing economic ties between Cambodia and the United States but also underscores the potential for future collaboration in various sectors.
