Cambodia Opens Applications for Sustainable Bond Accelerator Program Phase II

Phnom Penh: The Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC), in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), and with support from the Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility (CGIF) and GuarantCo, announces the opening of applications for technical assistance under the "Cambodia Sustainable Bond Accelerator Program–Phase II."

The application period runs from February 28, 2024, to March 15, 2024.

Program Overview:

The Cambodia Sustainable Bond Accelerator Program aims to support the issuance of green, sustainable, or sustainability-linked bonds in Cambodia. This initiative seeks to:

Enhance issuers' abilities to meet international standards for thematic and sustainability-linked bonds.

Promote climate-related investments and combat greenwashing.

Increase the interest and capacity of Cambodian issuers to utilize sustainable bond financing.

Lower the cost of issuance and contribute to a strong Cambodian debt market.
