Cambodia Seeks Increased Korean Investment in Transport Infrastructure

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia has asked South Korea for increased investment in its transportation infrastructure, particularly projects aligned with the Comprehensive Intermodal Transport and Logistic System (CITLS) Master Plan 2023-2033.

During a meeting with South Korean Ambassador Park Jung-Wook, Minister of Public Works and Transport Peng Ponea highlighted the plan's 174 priority projects, valued at approximately US$36.6 billion.

Ponea specifically emphasized the anticipated construction of the Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge (Phsar Chas-Chroy Changvar-Areyksat), slated to begin in 2025.

Discussions between the two officials also explored broader collaboration opportunities in infrastructure development and connectivity within Cambodia.
