Cambodia's Ministry of Planning Seeks EU Support for Digital Census Efforts

PHNOM PENH: The Cambodian Ministry of Planning discussed its digitalization initiative for upcoming census and survey results with the European Union (EU) on February 19th.

Minister of Planning Bin Trachhey met with EU Ambassador to Cambodia Igor Driesmans to request technical and information and communication technology (ICT) support in converting data from censuses and surveys planned for 2024 to a digital format.

He emphasized the potential impact of EU assistance on this digitalization process, highlighting its contribution to efficiency and accessibility.

Ambassador Driesmans expressed willingness to consider the request and explore options for supporting the Ministry's efforts. He also commended Cambodia's effective pandemic response and ongoing economic recovery across various sectors.
